What the project is about?

Context

Diprofire is a company specializing in fire protection products, systems, and services. Due to the constant increase in requests from customers and engineers for mining installation projects, the company identified the need for a more automated, reliable, and efficient tool than traditional Excel.

Problem

Before this development, Diprofire managed project and customer requirements using Excel spreadsheets. This manual process was prone to human errors and caused internal conflicts, especially between the logistics team and technicians.

One of the most critical issues was the lack of precision in the requested materials and products. Requests were made via email or verbally, relying on the interpretation of a person responsible for entering them into Excel. In many cases, technicians did not clearly specify the details of the required materials, leading to delays and problems in project execution.

Solution

To address these challenges, a corporate intranet was developed to centralize and optimize the company’s internal processes.

This system included:

  • User authentication to ensure secure access.
  • Analysis of logistics, administrative, and human resources processes to design tailored solutions.
  • Development of specific modules to improve and streamline internal operations.

One of the key modules was logistics, which enabled technicians and engineers to make precise material and product requests. Now, requests are made through a catalog of registered products, with the option to add specific, unregistered products when necessary.

When a request is submitted, the system automatically generates a formal email notification, and the request becomes visible in a tracking module, facilitating logistics management. This module allows:
Order and traceability in request management.
Efficient communication within the logistics team.
Optimization of delivery times and documented request tracking.

The impact was immediate: the processing time for each request dropped from 10 minutes in Excel to an average of 2 minutes on the new platform.

The success of this module was so significant that it received approval to continue implementing other modules across different company areas.

Technology & Scalability

The project was designed to be maintainable and scalable, separating responsibilities between backend and frontend using NestJS and Next.js. Additionally, the system implemented:

  • A database for data persistence.
  • Robust security with JWT authentication.

Ensure data security and platform access control.
Enable data persistence for users and services.
Centralize internal processes for greater efficiency and convenience.

This development has allowed Diprofire to optimize its operations, reduce internal conflicts, and significantly improve project management.
